This trend is evident in devices like the OnePlus 13, 15, and 15R, each boasting battery capacities of 6,000mAh, 7,300mAh, and 7,400mAh, respectively. These phones can easily last up to two days for most users, or over a day for power users.

Extreme Battery Capacities: A New Standard?

The race for higher battery capacities doesn't stop there. Devices like the Honor Magic 8 Lite and Realme P4 Power push the envelope further, with an 8,300mAh and a 10,001mAh battery, respectively. These phones claim to last more than three days per charge.

Faster Charging Speeds: A Double-Edged Sword

On the charging front, OnePlus has been a pioneer, offering models with up to 100W charging. Other brands, such as Motorola, typically hit up to 68W wired charging. However, these speeds are more commonplace outside the U.S., where Chinese OEMs often surpass 100W wired charging on their flagship models and even some midrange devices.

The Case of Samsung and Google

In contrast, Samsung and Google are hitting up to 45W charging on their current flagships, which pales in comparison to their rivals. This means you'll have to wait longer for a full charge, often an hour or more.

With these advancements, smartphone users are faced with a question: Is it more important to have a smartphone that lasts longer between charges or one that charges extremely fast? The answer largely depends on individual preferences and usage patterns.
