COCOMI's Digital Frontier: Strengthening Manipur's Integrity
In the heart of Northeast India, Manipur, a region rich in cultural diversity and historical significance, faces various challenges that threaten its integrity. To counter these issues, the Coordinating Committee on Manipur Integrity (COCOMI) has taken a significant step forward by launching its official website.
A New Era of Communication
On January 7, 2026, COCOMI, a unified platform of civil society organizations (CSOs) dedicated to preserving Manipur's territorial integrity, cultural identity, and social harmony, unveiled its website. This digital platform aims to serve as a reliable and transparent medium for sharing statements, press releases, activities, and updates related to the protection of Manipur's integrity and the rights of its people.
Unity in Diversity
Formed in October 2019, COCOMI comprises over 55 influential CSOs and nine branch committees, working together to uphold the voice and unity of the indigenous people. In times of socio-political unrest and external threats, COCOMI stands as a collective response, addressing issues such as narco-terrorism, illegal immigration, and attempts to distort the historical and cultural fabric of the state.
North East India's Collective Voice
The struggle of Manipur is not unique within the Northeast region of India, where various ethnic and cultural groups grapple with preserving their identity amidst external threats and socio-political unrest. COCOMI's efforts to safeguard Manipur's future serve as an inspiration for other regions in the Northeast, highlighting the importance of unity and collective action in addressing shared challenges.
Looking Forward
With the launch of its website, COCOMI aims to ensure the timely dissemination of information and provide the public with direct access to verified updates and official communications. As COCOMI continues to lead public discourse, it is essential for the people of Manipur and the broader Indian public to support their efforts and stand together in safeguarding the future of Manipur (Kangleipak) with courage and commitment.
