Indian Army Celebrates Ex-Servicemen in Manipur
In a heartwarming display of respect and gratitude, the Indian Army organized the Ex-Servicemen (ESM) Rally 2026 in Bishnupur, Manipur, on Thursday. This event was a testament to the Army's unwavering commitment to the welfare and well-being of its veterans.

The theme of the rally, "Veterans: The Nation's Everlasting Pride," encapsulated the sentiments of the day. Lt Gen Abhijit S Pendharkar, AVSM, YSM, GOC Spear Corps, graced the occasion as the chief guest. The event was attended by veterans, war widows, and their families, including Lt Gen KH Singh, PVSM, UYSM, AVSM, YSM (Retd), the senior-most veteran, and Col Gopendra Puyam (Retd), Secretary of the Rajya Sainik Board.
Recognizing Achievements and Strengthening Bonds
The rally provided a platform for ESM Achievers, Lt Col TB Singh and Sub Maj (Hony Capt) S Maniyai, to be felicitated by GOC, Spear Corps for their contributions towards the Ex-Servicemen community in Manipur and society upliftment endeavors.
Comprehensive Outreach and Services
The rally offered a single-window platform for veterans to address grievances, access welfare and administrative services, and strengthen the bond between the Army and its veterans. A wide range of facilities were made available, including Grievance Redressal, Medical Camp, SPARSH and ECHS assistance, Rajya and Zila Sainik Board desks, PCDA Guwahati, ARO, CSD services, and support from leading banks such as SBI, ICICI, PNB, and AXIS Bank.
Cultural Performances and Community Engagement
The event also featured cultural performances by Manipuri artists, community engagement activities, and interaction sessions with senior officers. The Postal Department, Super 50 Information Counter, Pramerica Defence Insurance Services, Cosmetic Centre, Phubala, and the Yarn Bank, Tronglaobi, were also part of the rally, attracting significant interest from the attendees.

Ex-Servicemen and Veer Naris from across the region participated actively and availed themselves of the facilities provided.
