In a significant move towards enhancing road safety, Khumanthem Diana Devi, IAS, Director of Transport, Manipur, recently called upon media professionals to actively participate in promoting road safety during a Media Sensitization Programme. This initiative, titled Strengthening Media Partnership for Safer Roads, took place at the Conference Hall of the Directorate of Information and Public Relations (DIPR) as part of the National Road Safety Month, 2026.

Asem Bhakta Singh, President of the All Manipur Working Journalists Union, and Khogendra Khomdram, President of the Editors Guild Manipur, attended as Guests of Honour. They called for closer coordination between media houses and government departments to promote a culture of responsible road use.
