Empowering Arunachal's Youth: A New Era of Skill Development
In a significant move towards youth empowerment, the maiden Prime Minister's National Apprenticeship Promotion Scheme (PM-NAPS) awareness workshop was recently held in Lower Dibang Valley district, Arunachal Pradesh. This event marked a crucial step towards enhancing skills and employment opportunities for the region's youth.
Skill Development: The Key to Employability
Skill Development & Entrepreneurship Deputy Director (DSDE) Gyati Kacho underscored the importance of apprenticeship and on-the-job training for the unemployed youth. He emphasized that in the face of limited industrial growth and employment opportunities within the state, young people should broaden their horizons by seeking training opportunities outside Arunachal Pradesh to improve their employability.
Government Initiatives: A Pathway to Empowerment
The DSDE deputy director explained that both the central and state governments are making concerted efforts to empower and skill the youth through initiatives like NAPS/SAPS, Skill India competition, and Honda India-Visan Foundation-sponsored training programs in the hospitality sector. These programs aim to provide employment opportunities for the youth.
Local Support: Collaboration for Success
The workshop was organized by the Skill Development & Entrepreneurship Department in collaboration with the district skill committees. Empanelled third-party aggregators highlighted job roles, vacancies, and training locations available for aspiring trainees. On-the-spot counselling and registration were also provided during the workshop.
