The Indradhanush Gas Grid Limited (IGCL) is making steady progress on the 119.5-km natural gas pipeline connecting Tripura and Mizoram, with approximately 45% of the project completed as of January 2026. The pipeline, scheduled for completion by December 2027, will span across various districts in both states, bringing a new era of energy supply to the region.

The pipeline will originate from the Panisagar receiving terminal in Tripura, passing through several towns before reaching near Mamit in Mizoram. From there, it will extend towards Lengte and terminate at the proposed Sihhmui receiving terminal, around 21 km from Aizawl. This extensive pipeline network will pave the way for the provision of household gas connections within Aizawl city by Tripura Natural Gas Corporation Limited (TNGCL).
