Empowering the Youth: Bharat Scouts and Guides Awards in Arunachal Pradesh

In a significant recognition of their achievements and contributions, Governor KT Parnaik recently conferred the Bharat Scouts and Guides (BSG) Rajya Puraskar to 33 outstanding awardees in Arunachal Pradesh. This annual event serves as a testament to the dedication and service of these young individuals, who are shaping a brighter future for their communities and the state.

Nurturing Values and Leadership

The 23rd Rajya Puraskar award ceremony, held at Lok Bhavan, honored 16 Guides among the 33 awardees. A total of 114 Scouts and Guides, including 61 Guides, qualified for the prestigious state-level award this year. The governor congratulated the awardees, emphasizing the importance of striking a balance between tradition and technology, maintaining physical fitness, and engaging in outdoor activities, including regular yoga practice.

Governor Parnaik encouraged the awardees to serve as ambassadors of hygiene, sanitation, health, cleanliness, environmental awareness, and anti-drug campaigns. He expressed faith in the youth of Arunachal Pradesh, stating that the vision of Viksit Bharat (Developing India) can only be realized through Viksit Yuva (Developed Youth) who are guided by strong values.

Holistic Development and Social Responsibility

Education Minister and BSG State Association President PD Sona highlighted the vital role of the Scouts and Guides movement in the holistic development of children. He emphasized the importance of instilling discipline, patriotism, and a strong sense of social responsibility in the youth.

Secondary Education Director and Ex-officio State Chief Commissioner of BSG State Association Tanyang Tatak, and State BSG Secretary Shehand Ronrang also addressed the gathering, reiterating the importance of the Scouts and Guides movement in fostering a responsible and disciplined citizenry.

Cultural Celebration and Skill Demonstration

As part of the ceremony, the Scouts and Guides presented a patriotic cultural program and a live first-aid demonstration, showcasing their skills, preparedness, and commitment to service. This event not only celebrated the achievements of these young individuals but also served as an inspiration for their peers.

Implications for North East India and Beyond

The BSG Rajya Puraskar award ceremony underscores the importance of investing in the youth of Arunachal Pradesh and the broader North East region. By nurturing leadership, promoting values, and encouraging holistic development, these young individuals are poised to contribute significantly to the region's growth and development.

Moreover, the governor's emphasis on maintaining a balance between tradition and technology, respecting and celebrating diversity, and upholding core values such as honesty, kindness, respect, and responsibility resonates with the larger Indian context. As the strength of India tomorrow will be shaped by the youths' strength today, it is crucial to continue supporting and empowering these young leaders.
