Apple, the tech giant known for its innovative devices, has unveiled its second-generation AirTag. This long-awaited update, released five years after the original AirTag, promises improved features while maintaining the familiar design of its predecessor.

Improved Precision Finding

The new AirTag incorporates Apple's second-generation Ultra Wideband chip, a technology also found in recent iPhone and Apple Watch models. This upgrade enables an improved Precision Finding feature, allowing users to locate their lost items from 50% farther away.

Notably, Apple Watch Series 9 and later, as well as Apple Watch Ultra 2 and later, will now support Precision Finding directly on the watch.

Expanded Range and Louder Speaker

In addition to the upgraded Ultra Wideband chip, the second-generation AirTag features an upgraded Bluetooth chip, enhancing the range at which users can locate items. Furthermore, the new AirTag boasts a louder speaker, which is 50% louder than its predecessor, making it easier to find lost items even in noisy environments.

Battery and Pricing

The new AirTag continues to be powered by a single CR2032 coin cell battery, which is user-replaceable. As for pricing, the AirTag retains its original cost, with a single AirTag priced at $29, $35, or $29 for different color options, and a four-pack priced at $99, $119, or $99.

Relevance to North East India and Broader Indian Context

The introduction of the improved AirTag signifies Apple's commitment to enhancing the user experience, a trend that resonates with tech enthusiasts in North East India and across the country. As more consumers adopt smart devices for everyday use, the demand for innovative and user-friendly products continues to grow.
